Wheel Thrown vessel made with stoneware clay.
I applied 5x coats of Terra Sigillata to the surface of the vessel and polished with plastic wrap in between each coat to give a smooth shiny surface.
Once bisque fired I attended a workshop in Gippsland VIC with ‘Valley Potters’ and fired this piece in the communal Pit.
I tied copper wire around this piece as well as red seaweed and banana skins.
In the communal Pit there was hardwood, sawdust, oxides, salt and carbonates added to give varied effects to each piece.
Once cleaned I applied Liquid quartz over the entire body of the vessel to provide water proofing both inside and out.
