Wheel Thrown with stoneware clay.
Before bisque fired I apply 5x coats of Terra Sigillata to the body of the piece.
Polishing with plastic or glad wrap after each coat to give the vessel a smooth polished surface.
The piece is heated until white hot and I have added Feathers, Horsehair and sugar to this piece.
It does have heat stress cracks so is best used as a sculpture to enjoy! As with a majority of RAKU pieces it is Not waterproof.
To protect the piece I have added Liquid Quartz to the interior and exterior surfaces.
